Off-Duty Lathrup Village Cop Questioned in Death of Detroit Neighbor

An off-duty Lathrup Village cop living on Detroit's west side is being questioned in the death of his neighbor.

Dave Spencer of Fox 2 reports that the cop got into an argument with his neighbor, 41, and a physical altercation ensued on Sunday night.  The officer allegedly delivered a deadly blow to the head.

The incident happened about 8 p.m. in the 8000 block of Whitcomb Street.

Fox 2 reports that the victim had jumped the fence and was in the cop's yard when the fight broke out. The officer, who was barbecuing at the time,  was arrested last night and was cooperating with police. 

The neighbor was dead at the scene.  No charges have been filed at this point.

Fox 2 reports the fight was part of an ongoing feud.
