A week after a deadly encounter with a drug murder suspect, the Detroit Police Department identifies the two officers who were shot during the March 2 arrest attempt near Linwood and Hooker on the west side. WXYZ has the details:

Officer Patrick Hill remains at the hospital in critical condition. Sgt. Jeffrey Pacholski is still recovering, but was released from the hospital several days ago.

Matthew Joseph, the 23-year-old suspect confronted by federal-city task force members, was killed in the shootout.

The station posts a three-paragraph bstatement issued Tuesday night by Chief Chester Logan, who says in part:

I wish to thank the citizens of Detroit and the metropolitan area for their prayers and support for the two injured police officers. Also, I wish to thank the media outlets that honored our request not to release the officers' names and respecting their families' privacy.
