A 100-plus room, five-story boutique hotel is set to open in May in the former Detroit Fire Department headquarters, WXYZ reports.

The Detroit Foundation Hotel, which is on W. Larned Street and Washington Boulevard, is near Cobo Center and is expected to get business from conventions.

The hotel will include The Apparatus Room, a restaurant offering locally sourced foods, and run by Michigan-native Thomas Lents,  a two Michelin-starred chef.

“Our team is thrilled to join the Detroit market,” said Mario Triccoci, Co-Founder and CEO of Aparium Hotel Group, the hotel group managing Foundation Hotel, according to WXYZ. “In creating this hotel, we are collaborating with local makers, artists and innovators to introduce a true Detroit experience for both locals and visitors.  It’s an incredible time in Detroit and we’re excited and honored that Foundation Hotel will have the opportunity to play a role in the city’s story.”
