From Thursday Night
Tigers slugger J.D. Martinez, who was doing so well at the plate, fractured a small bone in the right elbow on Thursday night in the second inning against Kansas City Royals.
It's unclear how long he'll be on the disabled list.
Martinez was chasing a ball, running full speed toward the right-field corner, Chris McCosky of the Detroit News reports. He didn’t get to the ball and slammed hard into the wall.
The Tigers have scheduled a CT scan Friday to confirm the diagnose, the News reports, adding that the most most obvious replacement would be Steven Moya, who is doing well at Triple-A Toledo.
