The Detroit Tigers have been waiting for the starting pitching rotation to settle in.
So, Monday was not a time to celebrate even though it was the 4th of July.
Starter Jordan Zimmerman was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a neck strain.
And in the third inning of a big game against the Cleveland Indians, starter Daniel Norris had to come out of the game with a right oblique strain.
He’ll have an MRI on Tuesday to determine how long he'll miss, reports Matthew B. Mowery of the Oakland Press.
Norris has been plagued with injuries since coming to the Tigers last year in a trade with Toronto.
Norris said last week, according to the Oakland Press
"I felt like I couldn’t catch a break for a while, just one thing after another. But you know, no matter what I had faith in God’s plan. I just woke up every day thinking good thoughts and being positive about it. I had some days where I was just kind of ‘what’s going on here?’ But early on this year after I hurt my back in the spring, that was really hard on me just because I had so many expectations for this year and they had to be delayed. “But every day in Toledo, I tried as hard as I could to get here. I credit (Mud Hens manager Lloyd) McLendon and Jeff Pico (Toledo’s pitching coach) down there. They really helped me mentally stay focused. I knew my time would come at some point and I ready to make the most of it.”
