Despite upbeat signs in some Detroit neighborhoods, the city still regularly battles gun violence.
On Friday, on a beautiful spring evening, three east side left two dead and six wounded, Fox 2 reports.
In one incident, five people were shot on Gratiot outside a car wash at between Loretto and Whithorn on the east side, the station reports. One died and four were wounded.
In another outdoor slaying, police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man on Packard Street at Savage Avenue, south of Eight Mile, who was walking with a friend when a black Dodge Stratus pulled up. Two people got out and one opened fire, the station reports. The friend wasn't hit.
And in the third case, a suspect wounded a man during an attempted armed robbery outside a house in the 2000 block of Meade, just east of I-75 and Dequindre. The intended victim's brother shot the assailant, who also was wounded.
