The chefs at Forest
Samy Eid, owner of the popular Middle Eastern restaurant Phoenicia on Old Woodward Avenue in Birmingham, has opened a new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant featuring small plates, less than a half a mile away, DBusiness reports.
The restaurant at 735 Forest Ave. is called Forest. It was formerly Forest Grill.
“We wanted to bring a refined, well-executed, beautiful dining experience to Birmingham,” Eid tells Adrienne Roberts of DBusiness. “It’s fine dining with cutting-edge cuisine that’s contemporary European new American flair.”
The menu features small plates such as octopus and risotto, pasta dishes, such as boar Bolognese and duck tortellini, DBusiness reports. It also has entrees including lake trout and rib eye.
