Bill Shea of Crain's Detroit Business writes that celebrity chef James Rigato and business partner Ed Mamou have targeted Hazel Park for a restaurant.

Shea writes:

The pair, who have been partners in the successful The Root Restaurant & Bar in White Lake Township since it opened in 2011, will open 40-seat Mabel Gray later this summer at John R and Woodward Heights in the small blue collar city in southeast Oakland County.

The fare will be a truncated version of the Root’s traditional American offerings (along with Korean, Chaldean and Italian touches) that are Michigan-sourced, but with a farm-to-table menu that rotates much more often, Rigato told Crain’s on Thursday. It will have a full bar.
