A man on a Delta flight to China out of Detroit died during an airborne medical emergency Monday evening.
Yury Rubel was on Flight 583 to Shanghai when it returned in response to his collapse nearly three hours after takeoff. Back at Metro Airport, it was too late for treatment, according to the Free Press, which says the Wayne County medical examiner determines the cause of death as hypertensive cardiovascular disease (heart failure from high blood pressure).
The rescheduled flight left Detroit Metro Tuesday morning.
