Trey Burke has a fresh reason to smile.

Benji Burke negotiated a sweet deal for his son, Trey, who quit UM this spring to go pro.

The 20-year-old point guard will make $2,438,760 in the first year of a four-year deal with the Utah Jazz, Kyle Meinke writes at AnnArbor.com. That's the top NBA level for a No. 9 pick.

He will command $4,987,320 in his first two professional seasons, with the Jazz holding team options for the following two years. . .

Burke was selected ninth overall last month by the Minnesota Timberwolves, then traded to the Jazz.
