Penske Logistics LLC plans to build a $98.6 million distribution center on Wayne Road in Romulus that will create 403 new jobs.
The 606,000-square-foot refrigerated and frozen food warehousing distribution center will serve mainly the Midwest, writes Kurt Nagl of Crain's Detroit Business.
"Penske Logistics is a major provider of automotive logistics," says Randy Ryerson, director of corporate communications. "We also serve a diverse portfolio of logistics clients in other industries including food, industrial manufacturing, consumer products, electronics, appliances and others around the globe."
The project gets a $2.5-million grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund.
