The Pistons opened their regular season Wednesday night in Auburn Hills with the addition of Chauncey Billups, who returned this year. He was traded in terrible deal in 2008 for Allen Iverson.

Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News reports the Pistons beat the Washington Wizards 113-102, and the Pistons fans chanted “MVP” when Billups went to the free-throw line with two minutes left in the game.

Billups, the man with the million dollar smile, chalked up 16 points, five assists and three rebounds, the News reported. He also got a standing ovation.
