Police suspect a Clinton Township woman was huffing in her car before she crashed on northbound Gratiot Avenue near 15 Mile Road, writes Mitch Hotts of The Macomb Daily.

She's likely to face charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. (Huffing refers to inhaling fumes from an aerosol can or solvent, sometimes using a bag to collect the vapors A wide variety of common household products are used by inhalers including hair spray, room deodorizers and cooking spray.) 

The Sunday morning crash happened, witnesses say, when the 35-year-old driver’s vehicle suddenly veer to the left, drive up onto the median and crash into a tree.

Police found evidence of huffing in the woman’s car, and her speech was slurred and she appeared to be under the influence, the paper reports.
