There's something very cool up about pop-up dinner clubs. But there's something more stable about a brick-and-mortar place from the chef's standpoint.
The Dinner Club Pop-Up, a Ferndale-based venture that has hosted dinners throughout Metro Detroit, leased a Nine Mile Road building, Brenna Houck of Eater Detroit reports.
"In case you haven't heard yet, we have a restaurant space!! 310 W. Nine Mile, Ferndale. Details coming soon," the owners post on Facebook.

The Dinner Club was created by chef Matthew Baldridge along with artist Janna Coumoundouros and gallery owner and musician Derek John, each bringing their own flavor to the collaboration. Matt's been a chef in the city of Detroit for 15 years including executive chef of Cliff Bells, chef de cuisine at Rattlesnake Club, and executive chef at Seldom Blues. He also worked side by side with James Beard award winning chef Jimmy Schmidt at The Rattlesnake Club. He has French influences in his menu creations with a modern twist and also works with local growers and urban farmers to develop the best cuisine possible based upon the season.
Janna, owner of Lilacpop Studio is a professional artist and photographer and will be showing her artwork at the gallery during the first dinner and will be curating art exhibits for future dinners along with gallery owner Derek John.
Derek is a muscian, producer, and independent film maker guaranteeing a good soundtrack playing during dinner as well as some fun audio visual flare, such as old movies playing via projector on the wall.
