General Motors Co. is considering a new $38 million expansion to its Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant, which could result in 150 new jobs, the Detroit News reports.
Melissa Burden of the News reports that the auto giant has approached the city for tax abatements.
"We are working on a business case for potential future investment at LGR that would be at the LGR assembly plant," GM spokeswoman Erin Davis said, according to the News. "The investment would fund facility improvements to strengthen our manufacturing capability here."
GM is moving its Chevy Camaro operation from Ontatrio to the Lansing plant, but declined to say if the expansion relates to that. The plant currently builds Cadillacs.
