Law enforcement and the media don't always get along.
But it's instances like this that show the benefits of a good relationship.
Jane Park of WXYZ reports that suspected Detroit rapist Milton Gardner turned himself in Tuesday after seeing that the station run a promo of its series, Detroit's Most Wanted. The series was to run Tuesday night.

7 Action News has learned Gardner turned himself in earlier today, after seeing the promotions for our story.
Authorities alleged that Gardner had raped two women at gunpoint, and they feared he'd strike again.
Authorities tell WXYZ that Gardner was homeless and trolled the streets for his next victim on a black 10 speed bike. He cut hair and scrapped metal to get by.
“He’s more of a street corner barber, more of a hustle type of individual,” Deputy David Weinman of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department told the station.
