Kym Worthy, Wayne County prosecutor
Mayoral candidate Mike Duggan used to be the Wayne County prosecutor. But apparently that wasn't enough to land him the endorsement of the current prosecutor, Kym L. Worthy.
Worthy is expected to announce Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in front of former police headquarters at 1300 Beaubien that she's backing Benny Napoleon for mayor, according to a press release from the Napoleon campaign.
The release states:
Worthy, and the law enforcement leaders representing thousands of police officers and deputies, all share Napoleon's common view that until Detroit is affirmed as a safe city no transformation will be sustainable. During the announcement, Worthy and other law enforcement leaders will speak to why Napoleon's plan will be effective at reducing crime 50 percent.
