It only looks too good to eat.
Yisrael Pinson, a West Bloomfield rabbi, was so amused by this Lower Peninsula-shaped eggplant from Farm Fresh Market in Oak Park that he shared a photo on social media -- including the Instagram photo here and a tweet to the governor that was retweeted it with this comment:
All it needs is the UP! RT @yisp: @onetoughnerd check out the eggplant I bought today, it's in the shape of a mitten! pic.twitter.com/e8WbEcEF7y

WXYZ web producer Alexandra Bahou called Pinson after seeing his tweet and posted a seven-paragraph item Tuesday with a map outline alongside its vegetable look-alike.

Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) on "Cheers" also found a vegetable with an uncanny resemblance.
Alas, although the entertained shopper wanted to keep his find a while longer, his wife decided it would serve a better purpose sliced and cooked under melted cheese.
This late August whimsy reminds us of a TV episode of "Cheers," during its fourth season in 1984, when the character played by John Ratzenberger (mailman Cliff Clavin) was excited about a potato resembling Richard Nixon -- setting up this comeback by actress Rhea Perlman (Carla Tortelli): "Show me one that doesn't."
