It's just another Sunday in Detroit when a fire breaks out at the Packard plant.
Black smoke and flames poured out of the north end of the 3.5-million-square-foot complex from early afternoon until evening yesterday.
Packard fires also are not considered emergencies by the Detroit Fire Department, which just let it burn for at least several hours, saying the blaze was too difficult to access. The plant is so dangerous that the DFD has special procedures on how to deal with fires there.
But likely arson wasn't the only activity that took place at Packard Sunday.
Some people attempted to push an old Winnebago off the roof. The drama was captured by an adventurous photographer who goes by the name Detroiturbex.
Another excellent Detroit street photographer, whose nom de photog is Detroitfunk, captured these Winnebago photos, and says there were several fires burning in the plant, including, later in the day, the Winnebago itself, which touched off an even bigger blaze.
Packard-watchers will recall some urban explorers pushed a dump truck out of the plant in 2009. That activity was captured by Detroit videographer Stephen McGee, and it resulted in a front-page article and video in the Wall Street Journal.
