The QLine, a 3.3-mile streetcar system that runs from downtown to Midtown, launches next Friday night with free rides through Sunday.

Some businesses on the route will have discounts and gifts.

Each electric car is  66-feet long and can carry 125 passengers on average. They will travel the maximum speed on Woodward, 35 m.p.h., and stop for traffic lights. 

► Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 6 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Friday: 6 a.m.-midnight
  • Saturday: 8 a.m.-midnight
  • Sunday : 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

► Prices:

  • Limited time: $1.50 (three hours of rides) 
  • Seniors and Medicaid cardholders: 75 cents
  • All day: $3
  • Monthly: $30 
  • Yearly: $285
  • Children (up to 44 inches tall): Free with adult

Ticket machines at each stop take cash and credit cards. Cash is accepted on board. An e-payment app is coming.
