MSNBC's Rachel Maddow is not a fan of the emergency manager concept in Detroit and the rest of the state.

On Thursday night on her show, she railed against Gov. Rick Snyder's use of the law in different towns. She noted with the lastet move in Detroit, about half the black voters in Michigan are under an emergency manager and have lost their right to local representation.

"The choice in Michigan is supposed to be dictatorship over dysfunction," she said.

"You're supposed to think if you give up democracy, you can fix what democracy can’t fix."

But Maddow concludes that the emergency manager "does not seem to be a solution to that problem."

Maddow asks: "If it doesn't fix the problem, then why are they doing it?"
