Deadline Detroit and the Sam Bernstein Law Firm have joined forces to create an award for a non-profit organization doing good work in the metro Detroit region.
The honor is called the Deadline Detroit Bernstein Service Award.
Deadline Detroit readers will choose the winning organization, which could receive up to $5,000.
Nominations are being accepted now.
Anyone can nominate a non-profit before the Feb 19 deadline. A team from Deadline Detroit and the Sam Bernstein Law Firm will review the nominations and pick up to five finalists. Once finalists are selected, readers will vote for their favorite organization.
"We are thrilled and honored to support the work of great organizations making a difference in Detroit," said Mark Bernstein.
Allan Lengel, Deadline Detroit co-founder, called the award a way to recognize unsung heroes who try to improve life in the region every day.
"Deadline Detroit appreciates the Bernstein Law Firm choosing Deadline Detroit and its growing audience to promote the firm's philanthropy," Lengel said.
