The City of Detroit's lawyers have had it up to here with ex-Trump attorney Sidney Powell and her typo-strewing legal team, and wants them punished.

Law & Crime, a website for the various platforms of legal analyst Dan Abrams, reports that the city's lawyers are sick of Powell's pleadings, none of which have borne fruit in any of the courts she's asked. And they don't want to deal with her anymore.

The site reports

The Motor City’s motion asks a federal judge to fine the lawyers, ban them from practicing in the Eastern District in Michigan and refer them to the Wolverine State’s bar for grievance proceedings.

“Plaintiffs and their counsel understood that the mere filing of a suit (no matter how frivolous) could, without any evidence, raise doubts in the minds of millions of Americans about the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election,” (City of Detroit lawyer David) Fink’s 9-page motion states. “As this Court noted, ‘Plaintiffs ask th[e] Court to ignore the orderly statutory scheme established to challenge elections and to ignore the will of millions of voters.'”

Points for getting "the Motor City" and "the Wolverine State" in one sentence, Law & Crime!

Powell became an overnight sensation when she joined forces with the president's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and promised a series of "kraken" lawsuits seeking to prove that the election was stolen from President Trump. However, the suits, which are notable for rampant misspellings and fevered detailing of vast international conspiracies, have been uniformly dismissed by judges, even those appointed by Republicans.

Powell had this to say:

Asked about the sanctions motion, Powell replied cryptically: “We are clearly over the target.”
