After battling back from financial ruin, the former Detroit Science Center reopened Wednesday at its Midtown location under a new moniker, the Michigan Science Center.
The Detroit News reports the museum will be open Wednesday through Jan. 6, closed New Year's Day, then open weekends until Jan. 30, when it will open five days a week.
The center, behind the Detroit Institute of Arts at John R near E. Warren, informally reopened Dec. 1 for Noel Night.
Museum officials say they anticipate 260,000 visitors will walk through the doors in the first year of operation.
