Raw Video: Detroit Resident Uses Garden Hose Against An Inferno Next Door

Videographer Blake Arnold captures the dramatic scene before firefighters arrive at Senator and Arnold in southwest Detroit Saturday night.

In a three-and-a-half-minute video posted on Detroitfirehouse.com and embedded below, an inferno in a vacant house spreads to occupied homes on both sides. One resident grabs a garden hose, which is woefully inadequate given the intensity of the flames to even save his own house. 

Not far away, five homes were damaged or destroyed Saturday night in another apparent arson at Elmer and McGraw.
