Metro Detroit is experiencing a long overdue thaw, but temps are expected to drop below freezing again next week.

Freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw. You have no idea what this is doing our roads. Actually, you have a pretty good idea.

That's why road crews are busy filling potholes.

Macomb Daily: Maintenance workers for the Road Department of Macomb County . . . spent a good chunk of their workday Thursday cruising county roads in search of the teeth-rattling, suspension-busting demons that are so much a part of driving in Michigan.

“We’re trying to make it so (drivers) don’t have broken front-end parts,” said [Leo] Wollenweber, a 14-year road department employee.

Can this winter please be over like yesterday?
