Various pieces of RoboCop will be coming together in Detroit this week, Tom Greenwood reports in the Detroit News.

According to the Imagination Station, the disassembled molds of the various parts of Detroit's iconic favorite cop could be delivered to the Venus Bronze Works by the end of the week.

"It's ready to be turned into a 10-foot-tall bronze statue," said Brandon Walley of Imagination Station, a nonprofit group of Detroit supporters intent on turning around the public's perception of the city.

"We're hoping the various parts will be here by Thursday or Friday. Think of something like the 'Rock Balboa' statue in Philadelphia… except RoboCop could kick Rocky's butt."

Funding for the statue was gathered on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter, where the organizers have posted photos of the statue in its last phase of modeling before being sent to Venus Bronze Works for the final casting. "What you're seeing in these pictures is pretty much exactly how he'll look," the page says.
