The Kickstarter-funded, ten foot statue of RoboCop has officially arrived on Detroit soil, according to Mother Jones.
Asawin Suebsaeng reports that the model, which was assembled by Across the Board Creations in British Columbia, arrived in Detroit Wednesday afternoon in a crate. According to Brandon Walley, the RoboCop project organizer and Director of Development at the Imagination Station, the big guy now stands at Venus Bronze Works on Detroit's east side. Artists will spend the next year casting him in bronze and preparing him for duty.
Despite hitchhiking his way back to Detroit, RoboCop still does not have a place to live after he's bronzed and spiffed-up and ready for public viewing. Techtown turned down the opportunity to host him, as did the city of Detroit. Other ideas are still up in the air.
@MT There are not any plans to erect a statue to Robocop. Thank you for the suggestion.

"Yeah, it's silly," Walley said. "But is there no place for 10 feet of silliness within 139 square miles of our expansive city?"
