The Roostertail is throwing a fireworks party on Monday night at the riverfront venue to help raise funds for Hantz Foundation, a local non-profit whose mission is to help contribute to more livable Detroit neighborhoods.
Called "Brews, Views and Ques," the event will run from 8-11 p.m. and will include watching the Ford Fireworks, food trucks, beer tasting and the sounds of DJ Boji.
“My family and I have been at our location for almost 60 years and we haven’t seen a Detroit like this before," said the Roostertail's Michael Schoenith, who is teaming up with the Hantz Foundation to raise money. "This city is changing daily with food, drinks and entertainment options.”
The event is for people 21 and up. General admission tickets are $40, with some of the proceeds going to the foundation. The fee includes 12 "tasting" tickets.
The Hantz Foundation site says:
We are committed to enhancing the lives of the residents on the East-side of Detroit through education, health and beautification of the city. By focusing on one square mile at a time the Hantz Foundation is able to help create a sustainable and impactful difference in the lives of people in this community.
Tickets are available at EventBrite.
