The two women who run the popular, year-old Rose’s Fine Food diner at 10551 E Jefferson Ave. on Detroit's east side, are expanding their footprint.

Founders Lucy Carnaghi and Molly Mitchell are opening a casual restaurant and bar called Wilda's at Grand Boulevard and Woodward Avenue in the New Center area, Brenna Houck of Eater Detroit reports. The eating spot will seat about 60.

A beauty parlor and a pharmacy were earlier tenants, Eater says.

The new restaurant will initially focus on breakfast and lunch, Carnaghi tells Houck, with dinner added later.

"We're also going to have a bakery and deli case . . . of prepared foods and charcuterie and cheese," she says. "We're going to have a full espresso bar and coffee takeaway service as well as a full bar that will be open all day."
