Lately the question is not whether the Tigers will win or lose but rather how will they lose?
On Saturday night, starter Anibal Sanchez pitched well in six innings, giving up two runs and two hits. The Tigers were winning 3-2 going into the bottom of the eighth.
Then in the eighth inning, reliever Shane Greene gave up the lead with a two-run homer. The score was 4-3. He finally came out with two men on base.
Then Alex Wilson came in, and before you know it, the score was 7-4.
It was the eighth loss in a row for the lowly Tigers, now in last place in their division. The team has been outscored 47-23 in the last eight games.
