Could things be going any better for the Tigers as of late?

They keep winning.

But now this.

Nick Castellanos, who is batting .286 with 18 home runs, suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal on his left hand after being hit a pitch as part of a five-run fourth inning against the New York Mets at Comerica Park on Saturday night, reports George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press.

Castellanos stayed in the game but was replaced in the fifth inning by Mike Aviles.

Castellanos could be out a month or more, the Freep reports.

The Tigers are making a play for first place and are only two games behind Cleveland.
