Threats of violence by students aren't taken lightly, particularly after the series of shootings since Columbine.
The latest: The Oakland Press reports that a 17-year-old male at Brandon High School student in Ortonville faces potential terrorism charges after being arrested Wednesday morning in connection with anonymous threats against the Brandon School District using a smartphone app.
Dustin Blitchok reports that the senior is expected to be arraigned Thursday.
“This wasn’t a prank. Nothing surfaced to make us believe this was a joke,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, according to the Oakland Press.
The paper reports that one posting shows a person holding a gun and wearing a shirt that reads “Natural Selection,” and said: “Tomorrow I’m gonna shoot and kill every last one of you and its going to be bigger than Columbine just wait.”
