Max. Maxela. Maxamillian.

Whatever.

Tigers' ace Max Scherzer was smoking hot Thursday night, and not only shut out the White Sox 4-0, but pitched a complete game in Chicago-- his first in 179 starts during seven years in the majors.

He let up only three hits. He brought the Tigers out of their funk -- at least for the moment.

He saved us for reaching for the Tums by pitching the whole game and not leaving it up to our questionable bullpen.

Of course, the Chicago media doesn't share in the excitement. "Scherzer slightly outduels Sale in White Sox loss," reads the Chicago Sun-Times headline.
