You might have thought the story about Madison Heights School Board member Melvin Rose getting shot by his lover's husband was good stuff for a Dr. Phil show.
Well, guess what? He's already been there, done that.
The Oakland Press reports that in 2007 Rose appeared on the show for being a stalker and abuser. He admitted physically abusing his ex-girlfriend. Dr. Phil also criticized her for leading Rose on and continuing to have sex with him.
Rose, 33, says the girlfriend wanted to go on the show. He says the show is all old news.
Last Sunday around 3 a.m., Rose went to his lover's Madison Heights home and got into a confrontation with her husband, who shot him in the arm. Authorities say the gun may have been an accident and no one has been charged.
Rose decided to resign from the school board after the incident. But the Oakland Press reports that now he's not sure he wants to resign.
The paper reported that Rose has a felony conviction for domestic abuse in Macomb County.
Doesn't sound like the kind of person to set an example for today's youth.
