Jesse Zuni
Canadian weed smuggler and strong swimmer Jesse Zuni was arrested Monday for allegedly attempting to smuggle eight pounds of marijuana across the border.
Zuni was found in full scuba regalia after swimming across the St. Clair River into Marine City. A tipster alerted the police after noticing that scuba diving in the St. Clair River in the middle of the night is probably not that common.
US Border Patrol let Zuni finish his swim before nabbing him. (Everyone needs exercise, after all.) They found a capped-off PVC pipe full of weed tied to a nearby ladder.
“It’s not something you see every day, but there’s always something going on around here, that’s for sure,” U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Kris Grogan told the Macomb Daily.
Unfortunately for everyone, Zuni changed out of his scuba gear before his mugshot was taken.
