
A second person has pleaded guilty in the attack of motorist Steve Utash.
WDIV reports that a 17-year-old teen who threw the first punches in the mob beating pleaded guilty Wednesday in Wayne County Juvenile Court to assault. As part of the plea, prosecutors dropped the ethnic intimidation charge. The teen was 16 at the time of the April 2 attack.
Because he is a teen in juvenile court, some media outlets are not disclosing his name. He is one of five people charged.
On Monday, 18-year-old suspect Bruce Wimbush, 18, pleaded guilty to assault in exchange for cooperating against others in the case.
The remain defendants are due in court Thursday.
