That was quick.

Willys Detroit, a sister store of Detroit-based Shinola, which opened in June 2014 and  sells clothes and accessories will close next month,  JC Reindl of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The store at  441 W. Canfield in Midtown, next to Shinola, will become a retail location for Seattle-based outdoors clothier Filson, according to Bedrock Manufacturing of Texas, the parent company for Willys, Shinola and  Filson. (It's unrelated to Dan Gilbert's Bedrock Real Estate Services.)

"As part of Filson’s national expansion growth, Bedrock Manufacturing sees an opportunity to expand the brand in the Detroit market," Heath Carr, CEO of Bedrock Manufacturing,  said in an e-mail late Tuesday afternoon to the Freep "Willys has been successful, and we are exploring other locations to open in the future, but in the meantime will focus on Filson.”

A second Willys Detroit location in Plano, Tex., closed several days ago and also will be a Filson store, the Freep says.
