Former assistant state attorney general Andrew Shirvell testified Wednesday he believes Chris Armstrong was trying to push a "radical homosexual agenda" as University of Michigan student body president.
Shirvell is acting as his own attorney, and he took the stand and questioned himself on the final day of testimony in the trial of the federal lawsuit filed against Shirvell by Armstrong nearly two years ago. The case in U.S. District Court in Detroit was sent to the jury Wednesday afternoon.
Armstrong is seeking $25,000 in compensatory damages for defamation of character, as well as punitive damages.
In his lawsuit, according to the Free Press, Armstrong claims Shirvell inflicted intentional emotional harm during Armstrong's senior year at U-M, partly by writing a blog on which he slammed Armstrong.
