Who better to name a Detroit street after?

At an outdoor ceremony filled with songs and laughter Wednesday, Detroit officially renamed a stretch of road at Milwaukee Avenue at Woodard in the New Center area after Motown legend Stevie Wonder, who spent much of his early years growing up in Detroit and recording his earliest hits at Hitsville U.S.A., Fox 2 reports

It is now Stevie Wonder Avenue.

Wonder sang "Sunshine of My Life" as a crowd of hundreds gathered for the ceremony, which included words from Mayor Mike Duggan.
