It's time to talk money.
George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press reports that six Tigers are expected to file for arbitration today.
The players include: catcher Alex Avila, outfielders Austin Jackson and Andy Dirks, and pitchers Max Scherzer, Rick Porcello and Al Alburquerque.
The Freep reports that the players and clubs have until Friday to exchange salary figures. After that, if they can't reach an agreement, the matter will go before a panel of arbitrators.
The Freep reports that the Tigers sidestepped arbitration wit utilityman Don Kelly, who signed a one-year, $1-million deal, and left-handed pitcher Phil Coke, who agreed to a non-guaranteed one-year, $1.9-million contract.
