Sled dogs, a zip line ride, a snow slide, marshmallow roasting and other activities will enliven the Campus Martius area Friday through Sunday during the annual Winter Blast festival.

Victoria Araj of Opportunity Detroit lays out details in a blog post:

► Hours: 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.

 Admission: $2 or three canned foods or one children’s book.

Slide: 200-foot snow slide on Michigan Avenue costs $3. (Minimum rider height: 42 inches.) 


After sled dog demonstrations, visitors can pose with Siberian Huskies for $3.

Zip line:Ride 34 feet above ground for the length of a football field at Woodward and State. $10 per ride, or two for $15 before 3 p.m.

Sled dogs: Exhibitions with Siberian huskies and racers Jill and Paul Miller and Bob and Melanie Packard. After each performance, photos can be taken with the dogs for $3.

"Campfire:" Toast marshmallows outside Hard Rock Café. Supplies are $3.

Free funNo-fee skating all weekend ($3 skate rental).
- Afternoon
performances by Detroit Skating Club, New Edge Figure Skating Club, Skate Company and Creative Edge Skating.
- Hockey shot contests at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday, with prizes.
- Cadillac Square snowshoeing (adults and children).
- Ice sculptures that are colorfully lit at night.

Warming tents: Four sites with food and beverages for sale. One tent has live music.

Flint help: Admission and activity donations will be shared with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. Organizers hope to raising $75,000 for those affected by the water crisis.
