Mazyn "Mike" Barash is finally getting his due.

Ryan Ermanni  of Fox 2 reports that Barash, a Chaldean-American had filed a complaint with the Michigan Civil Rights Commission, claiming he was the target of repeated racial discrimination at work, at SMART, after the 9/11 attacks. In one instance, he says someone stapled a photo of Mohamed Atta, one of the 9/11 terrorists, on his timecard. He was also called offensive names.

He was a mechanic, but no longer works for the agency.

The commission ordered SMART to pay him more than $330,000, but SMART refused and filed several appeals. Now, the appeals have run out and SMART owes $503,000.

"Living this for that many years, you can't just turn around and walk away from it," said Barash.  "We've been here for a long time and now we have found that we have needs to at least listen and help people that think they are being discriminated against, especially now with Isis going on."
