Robert Snell, one of The Detroit News' top reporters, heading to Crain's Detroit Business next month to cover city government and regional politics, Bill Shea of Crain's Detroit Business reports. Snell covered federal courts and agencies for The News and had numerous scoops during Detroit's bankruptcy process.
David Shepardson, head of the The News’ Washington bureau since 2009, is joining Reuters.
The Free Press announced that some longtime managers are taking buyouts, including sports director Gene Myers, who has been with the newspaper since 1983, Crain's reports.
Others taking the buyout include Grace Bennett, director of newsroom budget and administration; Julie Topping, the senior director of content strategy, and Steve Spalding, assistant business editor, Crain's reports.
