Trey Burke today confirmed his pre-graduation leap from UM to the pros, which seemed inevitable. Mark Snyder of USA Today writes:
Michigan's sophomore guard accomplished nearly everything he could in his two-year career – short of a national championship – and announced he is now submitting his name for the draft.
"I've decided to declare for the 2013 NBA draft," Burke said at a press conference at Crisler Center. "It's always been a dream for me ... I'm fortunate and blessed."
Jeff Goodman, a senior basketball writer for CBS Sports' website, recaps why this season's performance makes him a likely first-round pick:
He led the Wolverines in points per game, assists per game, steals per game, player efficiency rating, and usage rate. He also attempted and made the most free throws on the team and made the second highest number of 3-pointers for Michigan.
Under his leadership, Michigan was a top-five team for most of the 2012-13 season.
