Former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer watches a tribute to Chodun.
A flock of folks -- including some local luminaries -- showed up Saturday night in Ferndale at Rosie O'Grady's to honor WXYZ's reporter Cheryl Chodun, retiring after 25 years.
Chodun, a mainstay at the station, delivered the goods on a regular basis -- often on crime stories and trials, including the one involving former Detroit Police Chief William Hart, convicted of stealing $1.2 million from the department.
Guests included WXYZ anchor Stephen Clark and reporters Ross Jones, Heather Catallo, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, attorneys Geoffrey Feiger and Tom Cranmer, Fox2 anchor Huel Perkins, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer.
Chodun hopes to teach journalism.
