Update: Monday, 8:55 a.m. -- Never mind. Thousands of passengers were allowed back into the North Terminal shortly before 8:30 a.m., Fox2 reports. The  bomb squad removed the suspicious material from the airport,  Fox 2 reported. It was unclear what the material was.

As if there weren't enough hurdles to get to your plane at the airport these days.

Now this: Fox2 and Associated Press report that the check-in lobby at North Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport has been evacuated while the bomb squad checks things out. The shutdown began around 6:15 a..m. today.

Fox2 reported that something suspicious at an x-ray machine set this whole thing off.
