Need a fresh sign that we're deep into the silly season? Here's an entertaining example from the Detroit Free Press opinion staff.

The paper's editorial writers get in touch with their playful side, evidently never far below the surface, as they concoct subversive Spotify selections for Rep. Todd Courser -- the Tea Party bad boy of Lansing who tried to "inoculate the herd" and wound up sticking himself.
The 12-song playlist suggestions start with one that Courser endorses in a Facebook post Wednesday, which starts:
"Normally in the morning I will listen to praise music on my way into work, but some mornings this song just feels right -- Eye of the Tiger. I know with all the controversy it might be hard to understand . . ."

No, just hard to resist parodying.
See if you spot a theme in the other picks from the staff led by Stephen Henderson, whose colleagues include Nancy Kaffer, Brian Dickerson, Jewel Gopwani and Mike Thompson.
