Alan Trammell
Once again, Tigers star shortstop Alan Trammelll fell far short of the votes needed to make it in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Baseball Writers' Association of America voted Tuesday.
Trammell came in 13th in the voting, generating 138 votes, or 25 percent of the total. Players need at least 75 percent to make it. It was Trammell's 14th year on the ballot.
Pitcher John Smoltz, a Lansing native, was voted into the Hall of Fame for 2015 along with second-baseman Craig Biggio, left-handed starting pitcher Randy Johnson and right-handed starting pitcher Pedro Martinez.
