Local rock royalty shared the stage in Clarkston last night, as Brian McCollum describes in the Free Press:

A summer’s worth of buzz and hype came to a head Tuesday night, as Kid Rock and another batch of 15,000 fans closed out his record eight-show run at DTE Energy Music Theatre.

The evening finished with a poetic flourish, as a beaming Bob Seger hit the stage to join Rock for a pair of songs. Introducing Seger as “my musical hero and friend,” Rock embraced his fellow Detroit rocker in a hug before launching into spirited performances of Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll” (with two hot sax solos from Dave McMurray) and Rock’s “All Summer Long.”

The Freep pop music writer praises the overall concert as "a cut-loose, turbo-charged affair" and notes that Kid drew more than 120,000 fans in the series of shows that began Aug. 9.

it’s easy to declare Kid Rock’s August marathon a roaring success. . . . His DTE run was yet another testament to a potent hometown popularity matched by few artists anywhere. . . .

If schedules had been accommodating, promoters said, there was still enough demand to have added a few more dates.
